North Somerset Libraries

Throughout October all North Somerset libraries will have displays of books that feature books about Black history, culture, and experience, and literature by Black authors, particularly Black British authors. They will also display children’s books and picture books that are by black authors or feature black and minority ethnic characters and images. Since 2020, libraries have been working to increase the diversity of library books and ensure that there are books about subjects related to Black history, culture, and experience, and children’s books with positive representation of Black and ME characters in the illustrations.
