Anti-Racism Series: When Black History Takes to the Streets

Tony Warner is an author, historian, activist and the founder of Black History Walks, which explores thousands of years of Caribbean and African history in urban cities through guided walks, talks, and tours.

Dispelling the notion that Black British history only began during the Windrush era, Warner’s urban tours connect the African roots of historic places and explore how Black history has shaped modern British culture, as well as the story of each place and its fundamental links to Africa.

During his Black History Month talk, Warner will discuss the importance of preserving Black histories, how significant they are to understanding our collective history in Britain and how stories of Black life and legacy are never more than a few streets away.

Ticket sales will close 1 hour before the event starts and attendees will receive joining instructions 2 days prior to the event.
