Time for Change: Black History Month (closing event)

The theme for this year’s Black History Month is Time for Change: Action not Words. As the month draws to a close, we ask ‘What happens next?‘

Join us as we close Black History Month with an afternoon programme of events:-

2.00pm: Exhibition Viewing (with light refreshments & music)

3.00pm: Community Pledge – Be Part of the Change. RENS (Race Equality North Somerset) is working with North Somerset Council and Weston-super-Mare Town Council on a campaign to raise awareness of the Anti-Racism Pledges of the councils and enable the wider community to join in the commitment to anti-racism. This campaign will be highlighted and made visible through the use of window stickers for schools, businesses and other organisations that are proud to declare their anti-racism stance. Before receiving a sticker, all will be asked to sign a pledge. What would you like to see included in that pledge? Join RENS, Ago!Ame! and others to discuss pledge contents.

5.00pm: Refreshments

5.30pm: Film Screening (title TBC)

7.00pm: Food and music
